Guidelines for wearing children's jewelry

A child's first piece of jewelry is something very special – an emotional gift that often accompanies a significant moment. As parents of a young daughter ourselves, the safety of all children is very important to us.

Please take a moment to carefully read our recommendations and advice.

From what age can children wear jewelry?

We recommend that children wear jewelry no earlier than 3-4 years of age – or when you, as a parent, feel confident that your child is ready. Every child is different, and you know your child best.

It's important to remember: Jewelry should always be worn under supervision. No matter how valuable and beautiful it is, it's not a toy. There is a particular risk for young children due to:

  • Small parts that can come loose and be swallowed.
  • Necklaces or bracelets that can get caught while sleeping or playing

For safe jewelry moments: Here's what you should know.

So that your child can enjoy their piece of jewelry for a long time and handle it safely:

  • Please only allow your child to wear jewelry when you or a caregiver is nearby.
  • Necklaces, bracelets or earrings should definitely be removed before going to bed.
  • Jewelry can get caught or lost during active movement. For carefree adventures, we recommend taking it off beforehand.
  • Please check regularly that clasps, chains or pendants are undamaged.
