UND GRETEL x Dear Darling Berlin

Equal Pay Day 2021

In 2021 we were able to be part of UND GRETEL's EQUAL PAY DAY campaign and collected donations together for the TONI GARRN FOUNDATION .

Equal Pay Day is the day that was launched by activists to draw attention to the gender pay gap, i.e. the percentage of average gross hourly earnings of men and women. Because, shockingly, in Germany this will still be 19% in 2021. We think: that's exactly 19% too much!

We want to empower and support women every day. That's why EQUAL PAY DAY is very important to us. We know that it takes a collective rethink to close the gender pay gap. This is only possible if we give the issue of equal opportunities the attention it deserves and if we all stand up for it together. #weclosethegap

1% for social organizations

As a company, we see ourselves as part of society and want to make a positive contribution. That's why we donated a total of 1% of annual sales to social organizations for 2020 and 2021.

In 2021 - due to current events (February 2022) - we joined the AKTION DEUTSCHLAND HILFT alliance decided, more precisely, for emergency aid to Ukraine. Among other things, the donations are used for: supporting those seeking protection with drinking water, food and hygiene products, providing families with hot meals, enabling aid deliveries of medicines and medical materials for the injured, and psychosocial support for those affected by the war.

In 2020 we supported the Berlin children's aid project Die ARCHE . It advocates for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. The aim is for living conditions to improve, for children to discover their potential and for these to be supported individually.

In this way they are encouraged to lead an independent life. Started in Berlin, the Arche is now active in 25 cities across Germany and helps over 4,000 disadvantaged children and young people.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Together against breast cancer

As a young, women-run label from Berlin, it is important to us to empower women. In October 2021, together with other women-led start-ups, we drew attention to the topic of breast cancer, educated people and collected donations for the PINK RIBBON organization.

With around 75,000 new cases, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Germany. Did you know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? However, through early detection, regular palpation and going to the gynecologist, the disease can in many cases be detected early and the course of the disease can be positively influenced.
